To sign up for the service is free. Once inside of Google AdWords, click the Tools button and select Keyword Planner from the drop down menu. Type in the kind of business you would like suggested keywords for. Remember to add the specific location of your business so that Google knows how to rank it. For example, your roofing business might read, “Roofing, Downtown Miami, Florida.” Using a more exact address will make it easier for Google to rank you, however, it will generate less searches. Successful companies start off with a specific location then as business grows, they expand to reach larger markets. The Get Ideas button will generate a list of possible keywords. Keyword Planner will display the average monthly searches for each phrase and suggest a bid amount.
